Xinhua 7th June 2023, 19:05 GMT+10KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 (Xinhua) — Malaysian Central Bank increased the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) by 25 basis points (bps) to 2.25 percent. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) said in a statement on Wednesday that the ceiling and floor rates of the corridor of the OPR are correspondingly increased to 2.5 percent and 2 percent, respectively. It said amid the positive growth prospects for the Malaysian economy, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to further adjust the degree of monetary accommodation.
